Announcing the Calgary Data User Group

Calgary Data User Group

In 2018 I started a new user group called the Calgary Data User Group, and hosted one session called “The Ethics of Machine Learning.” It was well-attended and its format of a discussion group (as opposed to a regular slide show with demos) was well-received.

At the end of 2019, the founder of the Calgary PASS user group handed over the reins to me. With the recent very public turmoil and uncertainty around the PASS organization, I elected to merge the two groups and continue as Calgary Data User Group, an independent user group focusing on the Microsoft Data Platform, but not limited to it.

If you were a member of the old Calgary PASS Chapter, please direct your attention to calgarydata.org and subscribe to our mailing list.

We will continue hosting between four and six events a year — on the fourth Wednesday of the month — starting in February 2021. We already have speakers lined up for our first three sessions of the year.
