In 2012 when I originally founded Born SQL, I never imagined I would find myself a five-time recipient of the Microsoft Data Platform MVP award, let alone be offered a job to work for Microsoft alongside amazing people including William Assaf and Kendra Little.
It is a bittersweet moment for me to hang up my consulting hat and give up the MVP logo. From next week onward I will be a Senior Technical Writer on the SQL Docs team. I am also officially stepping down from the Azure Data Community advisory board.
My blog posts will continue so long as I have an editor willing to remind me every week.
Speaking of Kendra — who is also a recent addition to the team — I will reproduce what she wrote on her announcement post:
I owe so much of my career to the Microsoft documentation on SQL Server. Hardly a workday has gone by over the last 20 years when I haven’t read, shared, discussed, or blogged about these docs. (And in my heart, I will always think of these docs as ‘Books Online’.) […] To me, this is hugely exciting and I’m so honored and thrilled to get to work in this space.
Thank you for your continued support as you read my weekly posts here. I’ve put in a lot of work and over 200,000 words, and I plan to continue helping the community learn about the Microsoft Data Platform as long as I can.
